Hello everyone,

As the WIND blows……

A few weeks ago, we discussed how part of our LIFT ministry is to be like that of “Wind”.  This was a metaphor pointing out that as the wind goes, so shall we, the church of Christ, and LIFT, a part of His church on mission!

Tonight we have a special opportunity as the “wind has blown in” and brought a missionary speaker to us, right here in Zug, right to our LIFT ministry worship service. A missionary from Sudan, Africa is coming to share what the Lord is doing in that part of the Kingdom!  What a blessing for us, to get a glimpse into this work.  We will also have a special offering as be being a blessing back to pastor Zakaria.

Hello everyone,

FIRE- The consuming Worship of our Lord!

EARTH- Growth in our personal walk in faith with the Lord!  Through prayer, His Word, others and circumstances!

WOOD- The building blocks of LIFT-  Service and Ministering!

WATER- Going and flowing together in fellowship!

WIND- Evangelism to the full meaning!  “GO” like the wind, to those around us and into the nations- Missions!

We have wrapped up our study over these elements, now it’s time to continue to live them out, individually and together!

Tonight we are covering an aspect of life that we live everyday:  As Christians, we live IN this world, but in Christ, we are not OF this world.  There seems to be two extremes for many Christians, one is to shelter ourselves away from the world and the other is join right in and act just like the world around us.

I think it’s somewhere “in between” and we CAN be IN the world, but not OF it and still SHINE our Light for the Lord who is over ALL the World!  It’s an issue of the heart!  To illustrate it, we will begin by looking at the holiday of Halloween, something that obviously has a dark side, but is also “just about fun and games and lots of candy for kids”……… or is it something else?    Come and find out!

Hello everyone,

Something happened to me on Friday night at our International Potluck!  For a guy who sometimes can talk too much, I was profoundly at a loss of words.  After such an amazing week with a group of pastors and spouses from the U.S., with a conference in Zurich with other Swiss and European pastors, with such an outpouring of love and service from many of you at LIFT, I was speechless.

While speechless with my tongue, my eyes and heart was full of a small glimpse of what heaven may be like.  A place full of people who love Jesus, who share there love without conditions, and where joy is definitely present (and from the nations)! For me, it was being around people who I had walked in faith with in the past, with many that I am walking with now, and still knowing God will bring people into my life in the future to walk with. Someday we’ll get to sit around and just share it together with God in heaven and bask in worship before Him!

I could write pages about everything that I experienced this week, and books could be written if we all were to write down our individual experiences.  So instead, let’s keep walking in faith for the Lord and sharing life and love “as we go”!  Our God is an awesome God!

Tonight at LIFT we are continuing our series about The ELEMENTS of LIFT.  “WATER” is tonight’s element and we will see how our worship of God through fellowship is vital to our life and church.  After this week it is easy to illustrate as we enjoyed it all week together!

Hope to see you there!!

Hello everyone,

In the next two weeks there are 3 particular events that I would like to inform you about and invite you to come to!

TONIGHT AT LIFT: The ELEMENTS of LIFT- WOOD-  Why is tonight any different than any other LIFT night?  Alongside our study of “WOOD- Service and Ministry- The building blocks of a church” we will look back at how LIFT came into existance and look ahead (VISION) at what LIFT may look like in the future.   If you are just getting to know us, it’s a great night to get the story first hand!

OCT. 16th- LIFT NIGHT- SPECIAL U.S. GUESTS-  My former seminary professor, Dr. Allan Karr and 6 or 7 pastors (students) with spouses (and families) are coming to Switzerland for an International Church Planting conference (also credit for their own seminary class).  Oct. 16th, they will join us at LIFT as we worship our Lord together.  We intend to give a quick review of LIFT’s history and future vision (from 9th of Oct) and we’ll hear what the Lord is doing in their part of the Kingdom as well!

OCT. 21st-Friday Night-18:30- INTERNATIONAL “POTLUCK” DINNER-at Stadtmission Zug, 35 Chollerstrasse- Zug- In the U.S. a “potluck” is when everyone who comes brings their own dish and in the end, we all have a wonderful festive meal together.  I’m not sure what it’s called around the world, but regardless, you are invited to join us this Friday night (our last night with the U.S. Group) AND BRING A DISH OF FOOD FROM YOUR HOME COUNTRY.  Most LIFT evenings we have people from 5 to 10 different countries, so this will be a fun time of sharing food from our cultures and the love of Christ together. I’ll be sure to bring something besides hamburgers and french fries, I promise!  (PLEASE SEND A CONFIRMATION REPLY IF YOU INTEND TO JOIN US FOR THIS SO WE CAN ESTIMATE HOW MUCH FOOD WE NEED)  Even if you can’t bring a dish or decide just on that evening, come and join us anyways, there’s surely plenty of food and the fellowship will be great!

Hello everyone,

At LIFT we’ve begun a series about ELEMENTS.  Last week, Ken shared about FIRE and how our WORSHIP of God has attributes of fire.  It consumes, it purifies, and yes, it usually has some pain or cost attached. Tonight, I’ll continue and talk about EARTH!  What it means to us today in regards to LIFE AND GROWTH, especially growth in our faith!

Speaking about the Earth and the Elements of life, there is ONE THING IN THE CENTER OF ALL THE ELEMENTS THAT IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT!  Perhaps the following can help (in a cute way) point to this TRUTH:

Center of the Bible

What is the shortest chapter in the Bible? (Answer – Psalms 117)
What is the longest chapter in the Bible? (Answer – Psalms 119)
Which chapter is in the center of the Bible? (Answer – Psalms 118)?
Fact: There are 594 chapters before Psalms 118
Fact: There are 594 chapters after Psalms 118
Add these numbers up and you get 1188
What is the center verse in the Bible? (Answer – Psalms 118:8)
Does this verse say something significant about God’s perfect will for
our lives? The next time someone says they would like to find God’s perfect
will for their life and that they want to be in the center of His will, just
send them to the center of His Word!

Psalms 118:8 (NKJV) “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”

Now isn’t that odd how this worked out (or was God in the center of it)?

Hope to see you at LIFT!!

In His grip and grace,

Corey and Tanya
