It’s been a wonderful journey through 2 Timothy these past months as Ken, Bedros and I have been preaching through it verse by verse and chapter by chapter. This Sunday, Bedros shares the end of chapter 3, including the verses below:
2 Timothy 3:15-4:1
15 And how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
It’s been so encouraging for those of us who have served the kids (ages 3-12) at CLUB LIFT this past school year to watch our children take this passage to heart in real life, literally speaking! Each 1st Sunday afternoon after some crazy and energetic fun group games, the kids go with their group leaders and memorize Bible verses. In English we say they learn these verses of Scripture by heart, meaning they can say them from memory or say them from their heart! The next CLUB LIFT, on May 4th, is “Mastery Afternoon” when they will say all seven verses from this school year by heart! Last year, it was one of the most incredible things to watch when, one by one about 12 or 13 kids said all their verses by heart. I am so looking forward to seeing this again next week, especially knowing that the Word of God, as stated in 2 Timothy, is being proved true amongst our kids at LIFT! Parents with kids in CLUB, please take the time to work on the verses with your kids the next 10 days, not just for CLUB LIFT, but for God’s Word to be in their hearts! (The verses are included below)
Read it one more time, “And how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

CLUB LIFT VERSES-
2007-08 School Year- “Live It and Give It!”
This is how God showed his love among us:
He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
1 John 4:9
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;
and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.
Do you believe this?”
And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord
and may please him in every way:
bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him.
This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
1 John 2:5-6
Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
“A new command I give you: Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
3 – 6 year olds only
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
